Delete Your Account

How to ask us to delete your AudiTax account and the data held with it, what gets removed, and what we are obliged to keep afterwards.

1. Which app this covers

This page explains how to have your account deleted from AudiTax — the mobile app published on Google Play under the package name com.walqalum.auditax, and the web application that signs in to the same account.

AudiTax is a product of WalQalum Technologies LLC, the developer named on the store listing and the company that holds the data described below.

2. How to delete your account

In the app

Open AudiTax, go to Profile, choose the Account tab, and use Delete my account under Danger zone. You are signed out immediately and lose access to your firm's records. Deleting the whole firm is a separate action, on the Organization tab.

Erasing your personal data as well

Closing the account ends your access; it does not erase the record, because your name is still attached to the tasks, invoices and audit history you created. To have your personal data removed as well, email info@auditax.ai from the address your account uses, with the subject Account deletion request, and name the firm your account belonged to.

We acknowledge the request within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming your identity.

Deleting some data without closing your account

You do not have to close your account to have something removed. Write to the same address and tell us what you want deleted, and we will delete it where we have no continuing legal basis to keep it. We respond within 30 days.

3. What is deleted

Closing your account ends your access and removes you from the firm. Erasing the personal data we hold about you as a user of the platform — the request described above — removes:

  • Your name, work email address, phone number, job title and department
  • Your profile photo
  • Your password, which is stored only as a bcrypt hash and is never recoverable in the first place
  • Your two-factor enrolment and any unused recovery codes
  • Your push notification tokens and email notification preferences
  • Your membership of the organisation, which ends your access to its records immediately

Your firm's records are a separate request

Client records, KYC files, documents in the vault and invoices belong to the organisation that created them, not to your individual login. Closing your account does not delete them — they stay with the firm, exactly as they would if you had simply left it.

Deleting an entire organisation is the administrator's own action, under the Organization tab in their Profile. Everyone is locked out and any subscription is cancelled; to have the firm's data erased as well, they email us as described above.

4. What we keep, and for how long

Some data outlives the account, either because the law requires it or because removing it would damage a record somebody else depends on:

DataKept for
Files deleted from the vault30 days in trash, then permanently purged from storage
Audit and activity logsRetained as a compliance record of the organisation — these show who changed which record and when, and a firm's own regulator may require them
Billing and payment recordsAs long as tax and company law requires us to keep them
BackupsBackups roll off on their own cycle. Data removed from the live system is not restored to it.

5. If your details sit in a firm's records

If you are a client of an accounting firm that uses AudiTax — rather than a user of the app yourself — and you want the records held about you removed, the firm is who you ask, not us.

Your firm decides what it holds about its clients and for how long; we hold it on their instruction and have no authority to delete it without one. Write to the firm. We will help them act on your request, and you are welcome to copy us so we know it is coming.
